SL28 was developed in 1931 by Scott Laboratories to suit the growing conditions in Kenya. The varietal is known for its exceptional cup quality

It has a medium rate of productivity and is suited to be relatively drought resistant. This varietal is ubiquitous with all of our Kenyan releases. Scott Laboratories focussed their efforts on producing a coffee variety with great acidity, favouring coffees that naturally displayed high levels of phosphoric acid
