Villa Linda
Villa Linda is a farm near the town of La Plata in the Huila region of Colombia.
The 5 hectare farm is owned by Juan Carlos Campos, a kind old guy who spends his time growing passionfruit, fishing for trout in the farm’s lake, and farming coffee. His crop is made up of both Caturra and Colombia varietals of coffee.
Previously he sold his all coffee to the local co-operative and was earning the minimum price for his coffee. He now sells his crop of the higher quality Caturra varietal on the specialty coffee market and earns much higher prices due for this coffee. Some of the extra income is reinvested in to the farm to further improve the quality of his crop.

Caturra is a natural mutation of Bourbon that was originally discovered in Brazil in 1937, considered to be the first naturally occurring mutation ever discovered.
Colombia is one of the largest coffee producers in the world and benefits greatly from having one of the most unique and complex set of micro-climates of all coffee producing nations.
This region boasts the perfect combination of high quality soil and geography and is quickly becoming one of the largest coffee producing regions in Colombia. One of the best regarded regions for high quality, fruit driven coffee.
Machines are used to remove the flesh from the coffee cherry before being fermented in water, washed again, and finally sun dried. This process tends to result in more distinct, cleaner flavours.
